Where Our Young People Are Today
Every young person who walks through our doors begins a different journey. These are a few of them.
Vika & Dekel
Vika and Dekel arrived at Shanti House separately as young teenagers. There, they met, built a life together, and today are raising their two children, Alon and Eitan.
Dekel received a scholarship to study architecture at Bezalel and turned that opportunity into a successful career as an architect. Their connection to Shanti House continues: Dekel cooks for the young people each week, and Vika has worked at the House.
Liron
Liron came to Shanti House seven years ago, a sweet boy whose life circumstances led him to life in the street. He arrived at the Desert Shanti House youth village, where he discovered his love for horses.
He returned to school, enlisted in the army and completed the officer's course with great success. Liron received a scholarship from Shanti House and is currently studying business administration. In the future, he wants to help boys and girls like him, whose childhood experiences were on the sidelines of life.
Yosef
Yosef came to Shanti House when he was 15 years old, a boy who grew up in an environment that was blind to him. During the seven years he lived at Shanti House, he was exposed to the world of music and gained the confidence and peace that allowed him to learn to play, and especially to dream.
He made it to the TV show The Voice, and from there he was propelled into the world of music. Today, Yosef performs his original music in front of large audiences.
