What We Do

Shanti House cares for youth from all sectors of the population, regardless of religion, race, gender or nationality.

Shanti House offers immediate shelter 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for youth who can be admitted with no need for official referral, time limit on length of stay or waiting period prior to receiving care. It serves as an alternative family for homeless and at-risk youth, providing their physical, emotional and educational needs in a family atmosphere.

Our houses offer a wide range of treatments, rehabilitative programs, educational support and prevention programs for young people in at-risk groups

This is a very exciting moment for me and I am thankful for this journey and the moments within it.

I am a person who believes in the way, step by step, to reach where my soul leads me. The choices I have made at different stations of my life were mostly from complete responsibility, a deep listening to the voices and signs along the way, my inner world and to their implications for others

There were always three of them: the way, the love for human beings and myself. These choices were drawn from within me, through me and always passing through my filters.

During the journey I met the strength, the determination and the persistence to go forward, lead and create, along with the limitations, possibilities and complexities that the outer and inner journey summoned me to act upon, and always together.

I learned that without fear and lessons – there is no trail! There is no learning and growth.

Fear is one of the most important friends that accompanies me and makes me more accurate, moral and conscientious, and the more I listen to it, the more I am present, and learn. It defeats me for moments but, from the challenges that stand in the way, I learn, become clear-headed and lead with courage and incessant desire to do good in our world.

I share this message with you and remind everyone that we are our own leaders, we are responsible for our choices and the way we choose to go, as we submit the results to God.
